you have some hard soil or tough sub strata you might take a piece of
3/4" water pipe with an end cap on it and use a small sledge. It also

had a chance to soak in a little bit to get it started.
I trenched my field down about 14" and have it tied together with #6
stranded with the insulation stripped off.
