There is one factor in my selection, Mr Russell, of which you are unaware
(the price of the virgin hardline in question) :-)
A new neighbor with a spool trailer, had just a little tiny 160 foot piece
on the spool....what a shame to have to haul that around town
.....this weeks good neighbot award goes to:
The Cable Guy....
The overwhelming number of you brought something to my attention which I can
only attribute to sleep deprivation....
The shack end of the coax where I wanted to attach RG11 didn't have to be
RG11 as long as I had cut the hard line at a 1/2 wave multiple....someone
said I really wanted a full wave multiple - dunno why.....so
With RF1 in hand I will endeavor to cut the hardline to a multiple of a half
wave, and then just use a piece of routine ole 50 ohm RG213 to go from the
hardline to the coax switch at the rig......duh......of course!
But that is why I need you guys....to reassure me I have the right ideas but
just can't execute them worth a hoot.....thanks to everyone who
responded......yes it was .81 to get me started, yes start long, and dummy -
just use a piece of 50 ohm flex coax at the shack end if you are making it a
multiple of 1/2 w/l.....
Thanks guys.....onto the next set of calculations,
73,
k4oj
