In response to Mike, K0BUD, all that was written is true.  But the first
thing I would do is this:

Make sure the cable system or the CATV system is tight.  If the system is
the house is old, then there might be something wrong with the wiring.
This is common.  IF people have put on their own connectors or the
connectors are old crimp style...well they need to be all redone.

This was the case here.  The house was rewired.  New connectors (they are
pretty cool and don't use the old compression technique) and new wires.
The CATV people did it all for 20 bucks!

I haven't had to buy a filter, choke or nothing to get rid of the TVI.
Just a tight cable system that doesn't leak out or in.
