I hate to tell you but this experiment was done a long time ago and written
up in an April issue of QST.  The only variation was that the experimenters
used a vertical antenna which would certainly simplify the training regimen
for the moles.

As a teenager and new ham, I was ready to start digging my new stealth
antenna, especially with the encouragement of several old timers who seemed
quite amused at my enthusiasm.  Before starting however, I read the ARRL
antenna manual and the ARRL Handbook and ultimately discovered that the
purpose of this article was to induct new, young kids like me into the
wondrous world of Ham radio antenna design.  Been at it ever since.
