[TowerTalk] Rohn competition

The fact that Rohn does not seem to have any competition in the 25, 45, or
55 business explains a LOT to me about the way they behave toward customers
in need.

Why SHOULD they share any more information than they absolutely HAVE to?
Why should they show more examples that more closely resemble what we want
in their catalog?  Why should they make a rotator shelf that actually FITS
55G?  Why should they make a rotator shelf out of material strong enough not
to bend under a modest load?  Why should they make a 25G rotator shelf that
actually fits where there are diagonal braces?  They COULD do all of those
things if they only felt like it.

Instead, around the first of 1998, Rohn was sold to another company and most
of it moved from Illinois to Indiana.  A couple of months ago, they raised
the minimum order to a dealer that gets prepaid shipping from $3000 to
$5000.  They also raised the absolute minimum order from $100 to $250.  This
makes it one heck of a lot harder for me, a small Rohn dealer in Oregon, to
serve my customers properly.  If I don't happen to have in stock what you
want, you will either have to wait a long time for my next big order to go
in or pay an outrageous price for what you need.  You can thank Rohn for
that . . .

Yes, I sell Rohn stuff . . . because there ain't anything else to sell . . .

Yes, I suppose they could pull my dealership, but I would not be losing very
much  if they did and besides, nobody else in Oregon is crazy enough to
stock Rohn stuff anyway . . . the profit margin is just too low.
