     Sure - it's my preferred method. Trying to weatherproof split coax is
just about impossible.

     You can use tie wraps (black only) to hang the joint and wound choke from
the boom.  And then taping the coax to the boom until it hits the mast will
hold everything in place. Using lots of tape is okay for the mechanical
attachment.

     Two cautions. First, don't use a foam dielectric coax for the wound
choke. The problem is that the center conductor will cold-flow through the
foam over time resulting in a change is the coax characteristics.

     Second, if you have some tension on the dipole connector and use solid
wire to reach the feedpoint, it will most likely work, crack and break over
time. You don't want to have any tension on it.

     The 402CD is a FB antenna - you'll have lots of fun with it. Be sure to
use the "Secret LXC" dimensions.
