[TowerTalk] WD-40

Before you put you Lionel trains away...Spray the tracks with WD-40..
it will keep them clean and rust free for next year..
its also good for removing road tar from the car...(wash and wax 
after)

on subject
I use it to protect antennas stored in the garage...it is not of much 
use out doors with wind and rain beating on it..
