[TowerTalk] Phased Delta loop/Vertical

HI All
I am thinking of putting up a new antenna for 40 meters.  I would like
to put up a pair of phased delta loops, but they would have to be
oriented NW/SE, which isn't the optimum direction from the NW.  
Is is possible to phase a delta loop and a vertical?  The apex of the
delta loop would be at about 60 feet and the vertical ground mounted. 
The loop has a bit of gain over a 1/4 wave vertical, but don't know how
phasing two different types of antennas would work.  Phasing the loop
and vertical would put the lobe NE/SW which is much better from here.
