The HDR-300 --older model--main drive shaft--sticking out the top of the
rotor--will rust or seize to the lower mast mounting fixture (which looks
a bit like a pipe floor flange). U can not remove the rotor from the mast
or its mounting plate if this fixture is stuck.
The HDR-300A--newer model-- uses a stainless main drive shaft to address
this problem. If u have ever had this problem with the rotor up high in a
tower, you will want to do some heavy damage to the person who designed
the earlier model.
No need to put the older one up if you ever want to take it down in the
future. Get HyGain to upgrade it for their flat fee rotor repair?
