If you review the Rohn Tower Catalog, Foldover Section, you will find some
examples of closer guying for 25G and 45G towers.

If you go as close as the utility companies go with their guying, you will end
up with a tower that leans at all wild angles just like utility poles do (take
a look at them sometime and wonder how they stay up). Keep in mind the a big
wooden pole is solid and can take much more stress than a lattice tower
section. 

If you want the tower to stay up, best heed the tower manufacturer's
instructions.
