When the recent posting about the FCC's response to a complaint about power
line interference was placed on the reflector I emailed the bureaucrat in
question as follows:

Dear Mr. Gauthier:

You have been quoted, in reply to a complaint regarding utility generated
radio interference as:

>State utility commissions regulate electrical services within your state;
>the FCC has no jurisdiction in these matters. I have provided you with
>their address and phone number.

>
With respect, the FCC has jurisdiction over all radio interference in the
United States and its territories and possessions, not the state utility
regulatory boards.

Chase this one up the line of command, and let me know whether you have
been misquoted.

Very truly yours (and I'll be happy to forward a copy of the Communications
Act if you've lost yours)

and here is his reply:

>source of any interference. In my opinion, the basis of the complaint was
>the NSP and their inability to assist in resolution of a interference

Does anyone else want to get an opinion from the Candy Company? If so, the
email address is in Mr. Gauthier's reply.
