I have to disagree. The first thing that should be in the bottom of the
hole is gravel! You must allow for proper drainage.
Then a simple wood form to suspend the wire frame will do just nicely.
Or as stated, you can just work it down into the halfway poured hole.
I have never heard of not allowing concret to fall more than 4 feet. we
pour 12 foot holes every day with a suspended cage and never had a
problem.
