[TowerTalk] Cushcraft X7 / X9 Hint

If you own the X7 and possibly the X9, you will find that the antenna
matches nicely on 40m without the 40m add on option. On the basic X7
without a tuner I have an SWR of 1.7/1 at the low end of 40m. On the
american frequency allocation you should be able to get an even lower
SWR higher up the band. I have compared the received reports with a full
wave 80m horizontal delta loop and the X7 was within 3 dB. There is no
detectable difference on the front to back, but if you just want to get
a signal out on 40m then the basic X7 will allow you to do this.
