Hi:
I never thought the dielectric properties at
2,550 MHz (or whatever it is) is any
indication of it's suitability at 28.1 MHz.
I have some ceramic dinner plates that
get real hot in the MW oven, and some
that don't. I'll bet both mixes will work
FB ar H.F.
This test will turn you t'ward a better
insulator and disqualify some useable
materials. (Nylon sucks!)
The common 3/4 diameter white ceramic
insulators from 4-18" long are actually
spreaders for open wire feed line, I never

calculated the wire sizes needed for the
various sizes, for various imp.
The wire goes along the outside of the
ceramic rods and a 2" (or so) wires go
through the holes and are twisted around
the conductors. See the ARRL handbooks
for details, look in an older one. (if u can)
