[TowerTalk] Rebuilding TH-7 Traps

I am rebuilding my TH-7 and wanted to replace the 
rusting trap screws with SS versions.  Well that went
fine, until the trap wire (aluminum) broke, from what 
I guess was "work hardening".

So my question is:  "Has anyone rebuilt & rewired
TH-7 traps?"  My understanding is that some of 
the traps use #10 copper wire and some use
102 mil aluminum (#10 copper is 101 mils).  Is it possible
to replace all the wire with Home Depot #10 copper?
Is there anything I'm missing here?
