I stumbled across a source of "free" radial wire.
In this area, many well pumps are reaching their end of life.
Most of them were run from a two wire 12 or 10 gauge twisted pair.
When the pumps are replaced today, the well installer must use 3 wire
cable. Guess what he does with the old wire? It goes to the dump.
Try calling your local well drillers and see if you can relieve him of
the chore of disposing of this stuff.
Free is not free. You have to untwist the stuff. It's easy to do if
one fixes one end and rolls up the free end as you untwist.
Don't forget to verify the continuity of the wire. After all the "pump
failed" for some reason....
