I am thinking that just about all of the barrels I have used were nickle
plated.
Maybe I have never ever used a true Amphenol barrel. I think I'll go buy
one to have a good look.
The type I have used, if the plating is, in fact, nickle, would possibly
account for some of my past aggravation style experiences with using
barrels in outdoor splices.
