Of course, I will call Mike--on Tuesday. In the meantime, I'm trying to
troubleshoot this myself (my own brand of Masocism). I've checked all my
joints and in retesting the SWR, I'm now seeing the meter jumping all over
the scale. When it calms down, it now shows 1.2:1 and 50ohms at 7ft on
7.1Mhz. That's great, but what is causing the SWR and resistance to jump
around, usually in sync? I tried unhooking the balun first to one side then
to the other. No intelligible results. What else can I try?
