Polyphaser and others discourage the use of braid for grounding because of
the inductance in it.

1 1/2 inch copper strap is equal to a very large (expensive) copper wire.

I am not  being critical of an obviously successful installation. I just
threw
this in for those who are contemplating  their own version of this!
