I am overhauling an old WWII era prop-pitch motor to help a friend who is
building a contest station. Does anyone have any information on disassembly
after the motor is opened into two halves? I am especially wanting to
know how to remove the electric motor and the huge planetary looking gear
assembly. The fellow who had it before let some water get into the case,
but everything still seems to turn except the bearing in the top of the
case. I'll probably need to replace that if I can get it out. I have also
removed the cover over the motor, but now I am stuck as to the next step. I
think I need to get all the gears out for cleaning and relubrication. Thank
you!
