Greetings Towertalkians:

I use a ZL Special in a 2 meter version as a handheld radio direction
finding (RDF) antenna.  Works very well on an HT during hidden
transmitter hunts.   It is low tech but simple (non-elaborate),
reliable, not unwieldy, sturdy, good front-to-back.  Over the years,
friends have reported that the ZL works well on HF.
