Those of you in Europe can still get those HOFI coax switches. There is
practically no loss on 10 meters and the isolation even on 160 is not
measurable. This means that just using a HOFI switch on HF or 160 a gain of
1DB can be obtained easily over say a BW coax or similiar switch. I sold
them thru my company Resource Solutions and helped the USA distributor,
Electronic Switch (ESCO) sell them at Dayton. We sold a large quantity of
them to hams all over the world. The owner of HOFI was hard to deal with
and we finally had to drop selling them. HFI was making five position PL259
and N connector models plus a great remote version.

Some of you in Europe know this but Kurt Fritzel, the owner of Fritzel
antennas past away last year and his son did not seem interested in
maintaining the amateur division. They used high quality parts for the
beams, verticals, and the famous FD-4 and 3 wire antennas. About 400 FD-4's
were sold by ESCO directly and thru dealers like HRO and Universal. Another
fine amateur product line has bit the dust!
