Well. yes & no...as long as the insulation on the control wires is rated at 
600v ( or higher), you can do it according to the NEC.  I have been a 
construction electricain for 16 years, have seen it done, never have seen or 
heard of any problems.  I never have done it, neither at work, or home, & 
personally, I would seperate them....
