Hi Josh and Gang,
I share your enthusiasm for your new antenna and the fine results you
are experiencing with it.
What i am about to write will, no doubt, invoke the ire of some.
Directive
antennas, like all antennas, are magic. Radio and propagation via the
ionized layers surrounding the earth, likewise, is magic. I have old radio

and antenna books that go back into the 30's and 40's. The basic
underlying
principles were well understood, even then. There have been no radical
changes in the theory underlying antennas, nor have there been any
radical
changes brought about by discovery of new types of antennas that perform
"magically" in relation to all the known types of antennas, heretofore.
  The "Raibeam" is no exception.

Its gain is comparable to that of a 2 element yagi, i.e., in the 4-5
dbd range.
Its elevation angle is governed by the height above ground. It may excell
in the
area of front to back ratio when compared to a 2 element yagi. The fine
results
you are experiencing with yours, is attributable solely to radio
propagation. Any
well designed 2 element yagi, substituted in place of the Raibeam, would
achieve
the same results.

Amateurs love to believe in magic. Sales departments thrive on touting
the
"magic" virtues of their products. If any manufacturer were to have found
magic
and created truly outstanding antennas that put all others to shame,
there would ,
in a very short time, only be one manufacturer, OR, one product,
manufactured
by many. It hasn't happened.
