My 1/2 acre lot gets too full of antennas and I am again trying to
consolidate my antennas.

I have a 71' crank up (Tristao nee US Tower) with a KT34XA and 2 el
Cushcraft 40 on top. I have two questions.

1. Do I really need to strap the sections of the tower together? They
appear solid on my VOM.

2. I have metal guys on the tower that are not broken up. Do I need to
add insulators next to the tower (or use non conductive guys)?

Using the MFJ 259B and the N4KG method (shield of coax to tower, center to
the radial) I get a reading of low SWR at 5 feet off the ground on 1645 Khz.
Receive signals are equal to my MULTEE on ground wave (200 miles) and first
hop (800 to 1000 miles).

Please send me an e-mail and I'll post the summary to the reflector (with
your permission).
