Yes, with the LDF4-50 you need to make a rotor loop out
of some flexible cable.
I´ve used Andrews FSJ4-50B, seems ok no failures. For
lower power you can use RG-217, a very good choice,
I use it all the time.
RG-214 is a bit marginal for 1500W but sure if you never
use an amplifier it´s ok. RG-217 is rated for around 1 kW
at 144 MHz so it will take many kW on HF. FSJ4-50B
is rated for 3.78 kW at 30 MHz so it will be the high
power choice.

I use the LDF4-50 up to the top of the tower and then I use RG 214 with
a
loop.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Coaxial LDF4-50A
Hello,
Does anyone have experiences with Andrew LDF4-50A coaxial cable with a
rotator ?
Due to the low flexibility of the cable, can some problems occur (cable
life, ...) ?
Thanks,
