[TowerTalk] Open Letter To Mosley

Let me post something from someone that has had to deal with
problems in this industry.

Once in a while, a few times a year, a unreasonable customer
pops up. We had a V31 who insisted at running his amplifier on a
245 volt power main with the transformer taps on 220 volts, and he
clearly admitted it. He insisted we give him tube after tube, or he
would get on a campaign to "ruin our reputation". When we cut him
off on $600 tubes, he proceeded to do that.

We had a K3 in PA who had a PA for almost a year and said it
never worked right, so we did a customer adjustment. He failed to
send in his return amplifier, and paid the adjustment cost for the
"trade-up" he demanded with a bad check. Turned out the original
amp was paid for from a dealer with a bad check. He also ran
around whining about "unfair treatment", until the police arrived to
take him away.

A fellow returned a RCS-4 that was mounted upside down so the
case filled with water, and told us if we didn't replace it for free he'd
make sure everyone on internet would know what junk we sold. He
not only wanted that RCS-4, he wanted a spare!

IMO there are legal channels to deal with disputes. Posting
something to say you're unhappy is one thing, but posting
something in public to force someone into doing what you want
always makes me wonder what the other side of the story is.

Anyone who has ever owned a business that deals with the general
public knows exactly what I am talking about. No one but the
parties involved know what the truth really is.
