Hello Gary Steve VE3TU here. I have a similar problem with water but mine is a
little more severe. I am trying to put up a 150 ft tower and when we dug the
hole we found the ground is saturated with water from record rain fall for the
last two months. The sides of the hole just cave in. We went down 4 ft and the
sides caved in to a larger than 4 ft diameter. The water was 1 ft below the
surface. I pumped it out several times but the water just came back up. The
anchor block will be 3 by 3 by 6 ft long. They will be app. 8 ft down. I am
praying for a draught but in the mean time do you have any suggestions to get
the anchors and base in with these wet conditions? The soil seems to be mostly
clay and it does not drain well and we have had down pours of rain (>2 in) at
least once a week.
