[TowerTalk] SUMMARY Insulated tower lightning proection

Thank you for the many excellent suggestions for providing lightning
protection for my insulated tower. The consensus of opinion suggests
that using an adjustable  air gap between the lower leg and ground is
commonly practice. The gap can be adjusted to not arc for rf purposes
but will arc when the charge on the tower is high or if it is struck by
lightning.

QUESTION:

Could I put an automobile spark plug at the base of each tower leg? The
gap is easy to adjust, they are cheap to replace and simple to mount.
