Henry,
It will make the tower electrically taller more or less by the amount of the
extension. A general rule of thumb is determine the height of the tower
and add 45 feet to that number for a 6 el tribander at or near the top. If
you can find it, the May '75 issue of Ham Radio Magazine had a very good
article on matching towers top loaded by yagis.
