Has anyone considered or tried using static perlon caving line? The
working elongation is very low and the strengths can be quite high
depending on the diameter chosen. As one who has used dynamic perlon
kernmantle laid rope for rock climbing for years, I would trust this
sort of material and construction with a great deal. The caving
rope is of similar construction and material as the climbing rope.
It handles easily, but can not be left in the sun for years on end
unlike dacron.

Nothing convinces you to trust a rope like a 50ft winger off of a rock.

Blue Water ropes, a former division of Allied Signal makes the following
static ropes:

Model			Tensile Strength	Spool Length
9 mm BW II+Plus 	1800 kg		200m

10 mm BW II+Plus 	2500 kg		200m

11 mm BW II+Plus	3000 kg		50m/200m

11 mm Assaultline 3000 kg		200m

13 mm Superline 	4000 kg		200m

16 mm Superline 	5700 kg		100m
