Hello Bruce, hows HAM radio's "No Good Bum" tonight?? This "No Good
Amateur" has some feedback for you <G>

Regarding the KT34XA.....interesting question and response. I just
got the report from Champion Radio Products that compares the leading
tribanders in an independent test. I was very interested in the
reports finding as I was considering purchasing the CushCraft X-9, and
I wanted a comparison of actual data instead of having to rely on the
marketing propaganda that the beam manufacturers put out. The report
shows that in DB gain, the C31XR, X-9, and Skyhawk outperform the
KT34XA (in the order shown). In Front to back, the C31XR, X-9, and
Skyhawk again beat the KT34XA (in the same order). In bandwidth, the
KT34XA was about half what the others were on 20 and 15M, and equal on
10M. Based on all I've read here in the past several weeks, and on the
report, I decided to buy the Force12 C31XR.

Now, heres a new question <G>. My Create RC5A rotor is rated for "116
ft/lbs of Rotation Torque" and "1085 ft/lbs of Brake Torque". The
Force12 specifications say the C31XR has "<200in/lb" of "Mast Torque".
Does this mean the same thing as "Rotation Torque"?? For the
Engineers here, how do I convert in/lbs to ft/lbs?? If it means the
same thing, I'm not sure how to interpret the Force12 statement that
it has "less than" 200in/lbs. Does that mean 100 in/lbs?? Bottom line
-- will my Create rotor work with this beam with a reasonable margin
of safety?? My head hurts <G>

If I do need a new rotor, anyone have suggestions on what rotor would
be best when used with the Force12 C31XR??? I would like one that
has the ability to be computer controlled. How about the Yeasu rotors
-- they any good?
