[TowerTalk] Base Bolts????????

I left behind a base for my 89' US Tower when I moved. I bought new bolts
from US Tower. The regular price was $258(!). I called to order them the
Monday after Visalia and than called back to see if I could get the Visalia
15% discount. When asked if I had been there at their barbeque that
weekend, I said "only in spirit." She gave me the discount. S&H to Phoenix
were $32.55. I'd think the cost for shorter towers would be less.

US Tower replaced the J bolts with straight ones, which they said was to
meet a new building code in CA. They came with all new nuts, including a
captive one on the bottom of each bolt.

I'm a conservative accountant, so I went with the real thing.

| I have a 55 foot US TOWER free standing crank up tower that that is
| going to be moved to my new QTH in the country....Was wondering if there
| would be any local sources for the base bolts???are these made of
| tempered steel or are they something special that I once again have to
| spend well over $100 for the bolts from US TOWER.....Don't want to take
| any short cuts that could cause problems but am thinking surely there
| has to be a less exspensive way to go....Thanks........."HUH"
