[TowerTalk] Towers, CCRs and high-tension power lines

Thanks to all who responded to my questions on this subject. Most of them
probably got posted to the reflector, but the overall impression was that
high voltage lines (over 8000 volts) would probably be a problem, that most
power companies have become unco-operative about fixing noisy insulators,
and that using an AM radio tuned to the high end of the band would be a
helpful way to find the noise, especially if it could be done on multiple
days in various weather situations.
I decided not to buy the property in question, and have instead bid on a 5
acre place just south of Norwalk IA. Hopefully in a few months I'll be QRV
from there.
