The professional way to stack LP antennas is to TILT them so that they
would touch each other if the booms were extended to the front.  The tilt
angle is about the same as the slope from the elements tapering.  This
tilting of the two antennas, the top one down and the bottom one up,
is necessary to keep the (log) periodic symmetry of the antenna which is
what makes it broad banded, not just in SWR performance, but also in
terms of the pattern.
