I use a device, manufactured primarily for sail boaters, put out by Loos &
Co. in Florida. Their phone number is 800-321-LOOS (5667). I priced it out for
you Francisco and they stated it would be $62.27 which includes shipping.
It comes with a gauge to measure the diameter of your cable and their is a
chart attached to the tension gauge which gives the tension for each size cable.
It is difficult to describe, but all you do is clip it on the guy wire and pull
down on the attached rope until it clicks into place and it will tell you the
pounds of tension on the cable. It works really easy and it is not that
expensive.
They have a web site but it does not show or describe this device but they
show their earthquake cabling systems which I am glad I have no use for. If they
had remote control snow shovels I may be interested. HI
Good luck and Happy Holidays.
