The automotive subs function pretty fine here.   They hi-pot well above
mains-voltages, altho I wouldn't use 'em there.   Well, okay, in a pinch ..

If you use multiple connectors, make 'em different: sex or pin count.   Tag
'em, too.   A good stiff source into, for example, a transistor base, or a
positional-feedback-pot-wiper-near-ground, just cuz of the connectors, can
derail yer day.
