Hi Ted,

If you consider that in terms of wavelength a 20" insulator at 1.8 MHz is
equivalent to a 2" insulator at 18 MHz, and that in either case you are
talking about 0.003 wavelengths,  I suspect that you don't have
anything to worry about. I wouldn't give it second thought. 

BTW, I believe Jim is correct that this will add approximately 20" to the
length of the antenna depending on the taper of the feed wires (a very
gradual taper might add less, but I don't know for sure).
