It's called supply and demand. 
After 40+ years of guys kluging Prop Pitch units into towers, we
probably have more boxes of trashed junk than good units.

Some poeple are just starting to realize their value.

Too bad we didn't take better care of them back when they were
plentiful.
It was cheaper/easier to throw one in the trash and put another one in
the tower for a few more years.
