[TowerTalk] Wind Guages

I am thinking about getting a wind speed meter and installing it on my
tower (40') just below the antennas (dipole, C19XR and 2m vertical).

Most of those available seem to have either liquid crystal displays for
both speed and direction or LEDs in a brass mounting for direction with a
needle for wind speed. What is likely to happen to either of these
displays when I transmit? Most of the time it's just 100W but sometimes
it's 500 to 600W.

Anyone had any experience with this? Please reply direct and I'll
summarize for the group.

TIA,
