[TowerTalk] Wind Guages

My personal preference would be to convert the signals to light and
run them though fiber-optic cable. I have been told that to accomplish
this over a 100-200 foot run would be too costly. Sure would like
to learn otherwise as I'd also be interested to do the same with rotor
control and direction data lines, remote antenna switches, tower
mounted camera video, etc. It would seem that one decent fiber cable
could handle it all with the proper devices at either end.

I would be concerned that under the right conditions a RF wireless
remote might be desensed but many members of the TowerTalk list
can address that question with more practical knowledge than I.

My concern is the same as yours, to have as few lightning and
static carrying lines coming from the tower to the radio room as
possible!
