In the early 70's there was an article by a W5 on building a 70 foot crank
up (QST). In the mid 70;s W0SYK showed how to roll your own 100 foot big
bertha. Had a compete list of tubing required. (IT cost $1600 then just
for
materials). You had to be an expert welder to proceed or hire one. (HAM
radio or
73). Recently K4IHP showed how to build your own mast to hold a tri-
bander (QST late 90's).

Does anyone know the exact issues of this material. I'd like to try the
Big Bertha myself.
