Tom,
An interesting test would be to have some willing
big gun toggle on/off 3dB of attenuation at say 10
minute intervals over many contests. His rate plots
could then be analyzed with an FFT to see if a 6
per hour frequency component jumped out. To avoid
bias, a system could be rigged so that the power
switching was invisible to the operators.
