160 meter shunt-fed towers always work well, if you put in a good 
ground system.

I hope you have the posts back-guyed Tom. Most of the time I've 
seen wooden posts used, they quickly became a problem. They 
are especially a problem when water gets between the post and 
the concrete and freezes. That won't happen often where you are 
at, but it is a potential hazard.

As far as the guylines bothering the tower, you can bet they will. 
They at least need insulated at the tower.

You might be better off running an inverted L and keeping it 50 feet 
or more off the tower (in the direction you want to work) with a 
rope...even if you lose a little height.   

Lot's of people shunt feed 50-60 foot towers. Done properly, you 
can't tell the difference to taller tower.
