Are you sure Yellow bands are for 5/16" cable?  I just bought some PLP grips 
with the following PLP labeling affixed to each grip:

GUY-GRIP DEAD-END
B-Coat Galvanized Steel
GDE-1104
Galv. Steel Strand
2201104
1/4", 3W-7W

and the bands are yellow, not blue.  (Note the 1/4" shown on the label)
