Dave,
I just installed a HDBX-48 which I purchased new from Burghardt Amateur
Supply in Watertown, SD. http://www.burghardt-amateur.com
I'm can't say if they will sell the bolts, but they are a dealer for Rohn
towers, so you might contact them.
Rohn left the cross members out to allow easy installation of a rotor. I
wanted to use a 21 Ft. section of schedule 80 pipe for a mast so I moved the
rotor plate to the bottom of the top section for added strength. I was
still able to install a Ham IV with the mast in place, so it is not
necessary to place it in the tower at that location.
Just a word of advice if you do decide to move the rotor plate. Twenty one
feet of schedule 80 pipe which weighs about 75 pounds. I installed 3 tower
section, placed the mast inside of the tower and then installed the other 3
sections. It was very difficult to raise the mast far enough to install the
rotor with only the top plate for support. If I had it to do over, I would
leave the rotor plate in the original location and add a new one at the
bottom of the top section rather than simply move it. That would have saved
a lot of work.

Hi Folks,
Does anyone know where I can get new bolts for subject tower?
Also, I noticed the top section of the tower has two fo the cross
members removed next to the rotor mounting plate. This is a second hand
tower. Where the cross members removed at the factory or by a clever ham
that wanted to install a big rotor?
thanks,
dave
