[TowerTalk] Weight for slingshot

Depends on the slingshot, how high your shooting, the type of
leaves/branches the weight has to go through on its descent, etc....kinda
like common sense takes over here .. I use "what I got" (sic) .... BUT ...
here's some dope on how to do that effectively .. one way to do the line
is use a lightweight fishline, on a casting reel, mounted on an old
broken-off pole .. that works .. but, sometimes we don't have one of those
handy when we want to use our wrist-rocket, bow & arrow, etc...for example,
when XYL & I camping in the Northern California mountains, I take a pound
plus weight, attached to a 1/2" flat woven nylon line .. military type, that
does not hang up or wrap up-- and then fake (run it back and forth) it on
the ground, do the "armstrong" round `n round fling ... B U T first I put
down a tarp, over the grass, weeds, debris ... so my line does not try to
hoist the local flora along with my aerial! Those cheap blue plastic things
work just fine .. done that for years, with bow, slingshot, and armstrong
(wearing gloves is a smart thing to do .. see attached scars!--HI !)
Current camping antenna is a B&W 160 thru 20M trap dipole, used in the
droopy mode with my hoisted raising rope pulling up the middle of that
weighty conglomeration .. ends tend to be close to earth, but ... heck,
ain't that what camping is all about? ...ummmmm...and there's always more
hooks, lines, and sinkers!
Guess that wasn't an answer, but ...
