Roy,
it is not neccessary to climb the tower to place temp guys. Once the tower
is erected, all guys should be installed, both permanent and temporary. Temp
guys are tighted along the tower sides, and permanent are streched to the
anchor points. Displacing any of these guywires is performed at the ground
level, one at the time, while hazer is travelling up. Some people suggested
one guywire travelling attached to hazer, which is wise. Temp guys should be
placed lower than the perm ones, and they are pulled to anchor points once
the hazer passes their tower attachement points. So, no additional climbing,
once the tower erection is managed.
