Fred-
My situation is- "local" TV (Huntsville) is 20 miles (airline) to the west,
Birmingham is about 90 miles south, Chattanooga is about 70 miles NE, and
Gadsden is about 50 miles SE. I get all these with one antenna, clean and
crisp, except for Birmingham, which is fuzzy.. No rotation.

I have a Radio Shack Mid range UHF-VHF-FM antenna, picked up new in a
damaged box at a flea market- it is aimed to the west. it is on a ten ft RS
TV pipe (1.5 in) above the house. To see to the west (nearest TV stations)
it has to "look" through my wifes studio, 50 ft away.

I dont know why it works, but even off the back and sides, it's fairly good.

Let us know what you put up.- Bill- W4BSG
