I have an HD-73 turning my Wilson W71(?) in a homade rotating base. It
has never been spun by the wind. Although, the HD-73 is just a little
timid in getting the tower turning on some occasions. I guess the chain
drive and the interia of the tower are on the ragged edge of the rotors
torque. Maybe that explains the resistance to the wind as well. I must
say, it's been "a good soldier" for all of these twenty years or so.
73 de Nate, W3SVJ, in Pittsburgh where it's not so smokey anymore.
